Every year, Lou-Rich invests a significant amount in new equipment and this year is no exception. The company reviews options on capital equipment and makes selections on the items that will most help our customers. “We tend to prioritize new investments around automation and robotics” states Lou-Rich General Manager Shawn Cheesman. “The new Genesis robotic welding cell is a great example of that.”
This single arm, rotary table robotic weld cell produces high quality welds each and every time. One significant benefit over the older equipment it replaced is the easy to use interface. Operators can quickly set-up new programs, and the system has very fast indexing times. With a platform capable of handling weldments up to 12 feet long and 2,200 pounds, this system provides Lou-Rich with incredible flexibility. In fact, there are currently 16 different parts being run on this cell, with additional capacity still available. Lou-Rich prides itself on being nimble enough to respond to changing customer needs, and this new robotic weld cell is just one more example of our commitment to be able to do just that.
