This September, our Lou-Rich Hayward team received a prestigious honor – the Spirit of Excellence award from Hormel Foods. This award is given to suppliers who consistently perform at the highest levels of service and quality for a full 12 months. Out of thousands of suppliers, only 15 earned this recognition, and Lou-Rich Hayward was one of them. Even more impressive, this marks the 22nd consecutive year they’ve received this award!
To celebrate, the Hayward team enjoyed a special “low country boil” lunch, while Lou-Rich leadership proudly attended the award ceremony.
For those unfamiliar with Lou-Rich Hayward, they are a group of dedicated employees located in Hayward, MN, where Lou-Rich was originally founded. The team consists of engineers, designers, machinists, welders, assemblers, and office staff. Together with their Hormel counterparts, they specialize in designing, building, and installing custom equipment specifically for the food industry. Over the years, they’ve developed equipment such as bacon slicers and other custom machinery to meet the unique needs of Hormel Foods and its subsidiaries.

From our GREAT Lou-Rich team members in Hayward, our Hormel team members that we work with daily, and our other Lou-Rich departments and outsources that help us continue to put out quality products for our long-standing customer,” said Galen Berg, LR Hayward Facility Supervisor.
